“Oshi Palov” Festival in the Sughd region

The regional round of the “Oshi Pilov” festival with the participation of chefs, winners and active participants of the urban and regional round from the cities and districts of the Sughd region was held in the “Syrdaryo” teahouse of Khujand city.  Chefs from cities and districts cooked oshi palov with special skill, following the method and traditions.

The “Oshi Pilov” festival is held in accordance with the order of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan with the aim of promoting national culture, presentation of national dishes, improving the method and tradition of cooking “Oshi Pilov”, attracting more people to cooking and improving cooking skills.

The representatives of the leadership of Sughd region, specialists and representatives of the public got acquainted with the oshi palov prepared by the chefs of the cities and districts and evaluated their skills.

The festival was concluded, the winners were determined by the jury, and the representatives of 6 cities and districts of the region – Khujand, Isfara, Jabbor Rasulov, Buston, Bobojon Ghaffurov and Mastchoh were awarded with certificates of appreciation and monetary gifts in the amount of 500 to 2000 somons according to the regulations of the festival. Also, for their active participation in the “Oshi Pilov” Festival, the representatives of Kuhistoni Mastchoh, Ayni and Spitamen districts were presented with a certificate of appreciation and monetary gifts of the Executive Authority of the Sughd region.
