Environmental protection is one of the key issues which currently from the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan paying attention to it, and specific measures have been taken by the Government of the country in this direction.
In accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, taking into account climate change and in order to improve the ecological situation of the republic, as well as to create the best and most favorable living conditions for the population, a specific state program for the greening of the country for the period until 2040 has been developed and is being implemented.
In order to implement the “State Program for Greening the Republic of Tajikistan for the period until 2040”, a tree planting campaign was organized and launched at the initiative of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in cooperation with the Executive Body of State Power of the city of Vahdat. The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Sulaymon Ziyozoda, the leadership of the Committee for Environmental Protection, officials of the department for environmental protection in the city of Vahdat, residents and activists.
During the tree planting campaign, the Deputy Prime Minister of the country gave specific instructions to officials regarding the irrigation and protection of the planted trees.
It should be mentioned that in this initiative, more than 1,500 evergreen pine saplings were planted along the Dushanbe – Vahdat and Dushanbe – Norak highways.
It should be noted that the “State Greening Program of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period until 2040” was developed with the aim of implementing measures to plant trees and shrubs in cities and districts of the republic, and is aimed at reducing greenhouse gases, restoring the ecological state of atmospheric air, maintaining a stable natural balance and adapting to climate change processes.
