At a press conference of the Committee on Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, it was noted that 639 incidents and emergencies which has natural feature were registered in the republic during the reporting period.

At the same time, it was stated that during this period, more than 300 houses, 12 schools and preschool institutions, household and cultural facilities, local roads, power lines, and agricultural crops were damaged as a result of natural disasters.

In this regard, during the reporting period, by the instructions of the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, based on the relevant orders of the State Commission of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on Emergency Situations, one-time material assistance was allocated and made available from the Fund for Unforeseen Expenses of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Fund of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and state material resources for families affected by natural disasters, as well as for the construction and reconstruction of fully and partially damaged houses, construction materials, food and non-food materials for a total amount of 50 million 570 thousand somoni.

During the meeting on search and rescue work, which is considered one of the important areas of the Committee’s activity, it was noted that in 2024, the Committee’s rescuers carried out 896 emergency operations, as a result of which 187 citizens of the republic were saved.
