In Sughd region, attention is paid to the development of the tourism sector, with the financing of the Asian Development Bank for the development of the “Integrated Tourism General Plan for Sughd region” in the amount of more than 1 million dollars, a contract was signed with the Kios Consulting Company, and a list of 25 investment projects for the development of tourism infrastructure in Sughd region has been prepared,” the head of Sughd region noted during a press conference.

To serve domestic and foreign tourists, in the region operates 1 Khujand International Airport, 6 international border crossings, 95 tourism service entities, including 62 hotels, 18 sanatoriums, 2 treatment centers, 4 medical and recreational clinics, 2 rest homes, 4 camps, 1 recreation center, and 1 tourist center with a total capacity of 7,441 places.

It was said that currently 48 tourism organizations are operating in the cities and districts of the region. Last year, more than 1 million foreign citizens visited the region for various purposes, including tourism, which is 134.2 percent more than the previous year.
