Falak is one of the main genres of traditional Tajik music and is considered a historical property of the civilized Tajik nation.
According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Celebration of Falak Day on August 8th, 2007, in order to protect the artistic and cultural heritage of the Tajik people, “October 10 is declared as the Falak Day” and is celebrated every year at a high level. At the suggestion of the Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, in December 2021, at the 16th meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO, which was held in Paris, the name “Falak” was officially entered into the Register of the Intangible Heritage of Humanity, which was recognized as a phenomenon. It is possible to interpret the strengthening of the influence and prestige of the nation’s culture in the world arena.
We remind you that in order to promote the development of Falak Day in the country, the celebration of Falak Day on October 10 has entered the country’s festival calendar. In fact, protection of these values has become the duty and professional responsibility of every self-aware and patriotic person. The celebration of this holiday is considered the most important cultural event in the period of the country’s independence, and it plays a worthy role in the further development of the art of singing, national folk music, promotion and encouragement of artistic creativity, folklore and ethnology.
