The State Institution of the Cultural and Historical Museum of Khujand Fortress hosted the regional round of the festival-competition “Sad rangi Chakan”, in which 30 winners of the city round in 6 nominations participated. The festival is one of the measures to honor the original cultural values, and is aimed at promoting and encouraging national clothing, raising the status and prestige of embroidery of national fabrics, and demonstrating the high skill of designers and craftsmen. It was said that with the initiative of the Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, in terms of raising the status and prestige of embroidery, the name “Chakan – the art of embroidery in Tajikistan” was included in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. It was precisely this concern and development of craftsmanship in the country that led to the number of artisans increasing year by year, their innovation and creativity increasing, and their standard of living becoming decent.

The festival-competition was held under the conditions of displaying ancient, children’s, festive, everyday, and official clothes.

At the end, the winners were determined according to the conditions of the festival, qualified to the republican round, and were honored.
