The solemn event dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan in Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region began with the singing of the national anthem. The Chairman of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region sincerely congratulated all the patriotic people of the Republic of Tajikistan and the residents of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region with a worthy celebration of this important historical date – the 33rd anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, and mentioned that in the time of independence, the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region under the constant attention of the state and government, in particular, the great leader of the nation Honorable Emomali Rahmon, specific measures have been taken. With the instructions and guidance of the Head of State, the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan has taken beneficial measures to overcome the communication deadlock of the region and fully provide it with electric power. Currently, two large state projects are underway – the construction of the international road, Darvaz to the entrance of Rushon district, the construction of the “Sebzor” hydropower plant in Roshtkala district.

The representative of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan noted that the greatest capital of any state and nation is independence, and reaching this auspicious day means the hopes and dreams of many states and nations. The concept of independence is the coming together, creation, unification of the people and independent establishment of the state and statehood. That is why the people of Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region are constantly striving to protect and preserve this great historical achievement.

In the continuation, several activists of the region were awarded with the medal of meritorious service and the certificates of the Republic of Tajikistan. Also, on behalf of the head of Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region, a number of activists were awarded with certificates and industry veterans with souvenirs. The festivities in honor of the 33rd anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Tajikistan took place in the building of the Mehrubon Nazarov State Comedy Music Theater with the performances of the region’s artists.
