In independent Tajikistan, along with other sectors, special attention is paid to the road and transport sector, which is a key and priority direction in the development of various sectors of the national economy, including the tourism sector.

Given this importance, the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan has paid attention to the comprehensive development of the road sector since the first days of independence. In his Address to the Majlisi Oli, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, emphasized that “In recent years, the repair and construction of local roads has expanded, and in 2024 alone, more than 2 thousand kilometers of local roads have been repaired and reconstructed for more than 1 billion somoni, and the construction and reconstruction of 23 bridges have been completed, thanks to all sources of financing, in particular, with the contribution of entrepreneurs, generous individuals and the people of Tajikistan.” In 2024, in order to implement the instructions of the Government of the country, important measures were taken in the Sughd region in the field of roads, and the repair of 2077 km of roads, including the main repair of 211 km of automobile roads, were planned, and these road improvement measures were implemented in excess.

It should be noted that all this was implemented with the direct support of the Government of the country and the contribution of patriotic entrepreneurs and residents, ensuring the safety of vehicle traffic.

Today, the achievements of the road and transport sector in the region are clearly felt. Even the roads of the most remote districts, where tourists most often travel, have been paved, and vehicles can move without problems.
