The regional round of the Republican Festival “Sad Rangi Chakan” was held in the city of Kulob with the participation of the Deputy Chairman of the Khatlon region, guests and women and girls of the craftswomen.

At the beginning, the Deputy Chairman of the Khatlon region and guests watched an exhibition of handicrafts made by women of the region.

At the exhibition, the craftswomen presented their crafts – beautiful and elegant embroidery, shirts, pillows, toqi and dozens of other items of embroidery. Each embroidery, chakan and other products presented attracted the attention of residents and guests with their charm, beauty and richness of design.

It was noted that the “Sad Rangi Chakan” festival has been held since 2018 at the initiative of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Committee for Women and Family Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, and contributes to the revival of folk crafts and the promotion of national clothes. Chakan, a type of folk art of the Tajik nation, was included in the UNESCO List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2018.

Holding such events contributes to the promotion of national clothes, the revival of folk arts, and the enhancement of the sense of patriotism and aestheticism in society, which is the main goal of this festival.
