DEVELOPMENT OF MOUNTAINEERING TOURISM IN THE COUNTRY

Mountaineering in Tajikistan is one of the most attractive tourist destinations, as the country is famous for its high mountains and beautiful natural landscapes. Tajikistan has several of the highest peaks in Central Asia, which attract the attention of climbers from all over the world.

The country is home to famous mountain ranges such as the Pomir, Hisor, and Zarafshan, which provide opportunities for mountaineering. Mountaineering in the country is not only a sport or tourism, but also a means of getting to know the unique nature of the country. It should be noted that one of the most famous mountains and the highest peak in Central Asia is Ismoil Somoni peak, and in 2014 Forbes magazine included it in the list of 14 unusual places in the former Soviet Union, and the Top 100 magazine included the Pomir Mountains in the list of interesting places.

The height of Ismoili Somoni Peak is 7495 meters, which is 1440 meters lower than Everest peak. The magazine also states that out of the three mountains in the former Soviet Union that are over 7 thousand meters high, three are located in Tajikistan. Currently, mountaineering is recognized as a separate sport, gaining many fans every year. Mountaineering have become an important step towards restoring a healthy lifestyle. Thus, this type of tourism, along with professional sports, is developing rapidly and is considered one of the favorite activities of millions of people on the planet.
